Sarah Melville-Smith

A.I.S.T.D. Dip. Modern Jazz  / I.S.T.D Tap / R.A.D Teachers Cert. Classical Ballet

Sarah has over 30 years of experience in the dance, entertainment, and event management industry. She started dancing at the age of 6 and even at a young age loved the magical world of dance and performing onstage in the glittery costumes. After completing full time dance training and achieving her Diploma of Dance and Theatre Arts and Diploma of Teaching of Dance, Sarah travelled to Australia and Japan and worked as a professional cabaret dancer for Dance Encore Productions. Upon returning to New Zealand she set up her own company - Stageworks Productions Ltd, which provided quality cabaret dance and show entertainment for corporate events and various charity organisations for over sixteen years.

Sarah became Course Co-ordinator for the fulltime school she graduated from and she taught all ISTD dance styles together with academic subjects of Dance History, Anatomy, Choreography, and Stagecraft.

Sarah also choreographed for Miss Howick, Miss Auckland and Miss Universe New Zealand beauty pageants for over 15 years and she was the Director of the prestigious Miss Auckland Pageant for over 5 years. Highlights from this time for Sarah were accompanying Miss New Zealand to Las Vegas for the annual Miss Universe Pageant and travelling to overseas countries for TV commericals with the pageant winners.

Sarah developed the Stageworks Personal Development workshops over 6 years ago with the emphasis for children to learn life skills, develop a positive sense of body image, confidence, motivation, and self-awareness.

Sarah has always been passionate about inspiring and supporting young people to best the best they can be. She loves to empower the potential she sees within each person she teaches and guide them on their own journey to success.
