Rosie Martin
Barre Fitness & Broadway Dance
Rosie started dancing at a very young age, and has been teaching dance since the age of 14. Having completed her relevant examinations and teaching qualifications for a variety of different dance styles from RAD Ballet to NZAMD and APDA Contemporary, Jazz and Hip Hop. Rosie has taught in dance schools throughout New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with a minor in contemporary dance from Otago University, Rosie went to Melbourne to study dance fulltime at Dance Factory completing her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching. As well as teaching dance Rosie also performed professionally as part of the Dunedin Dance Theatre, under Shona Dunlop-MacTavish.
As a freelance dancer in both Australia and Hong Kong, Rosie taught and choreographed numerous studio, school and local productions, performed for a variety of both commercial and private events, such as one of the professional dancers for the opening of Victoria Beckham’s Hong Kong store, Hong Kong Rugby Sevens opening ceremonies and functions and choreographing and dancing with cast members of Britain’s “Strictly Come Dancing”.

While in Hong Kong Rosie trained and then taught Xtend Barre for Flex Studio and upon returning to New Zealand with a young family she completed her Graduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching specialising in Dance. Rosie loves everything about dance especially the sense of community, enjoyment and belonging and wishes to share this joy with all her students.
